From the East

My Brothers,

Seasons greeting to all and I sincerely hope everyone had a happy heart felted holiday. I would like to thank everyone who was present for the 2nd degree school of instructions on December 10, 2008. The instructions were superb at the skillful hands of our Senior Deacon, Brother Brandon Butcher. Brother Butcher continuously displays his genuine love, commitment and deepest passion for Masonry. Because of his unwavering passion and devotion, his coaching and tutoring culminated into a very successful class of instruction.  I would like to extend my sincere thanks to V\W\Bob Fernandez for working with Brother Butcher in making this a memorial experience.

After the class of instructions, all of us went to the Olive Garden for our holiday collation.  The food and fellowship was at its best. I was so impressed by the spirit of Brotherhood, it is only fitting that I take this opportunity to share an email from our SW Bro. Willie Morales who described his feeling about that night.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Worshipful
Master and all the officers and brothers who were in attendance for
the meeting/school of instruction on 12/10/08. It was very helpful
and educational to me, hopefully it was the same for all the brothers
present. Brother Butcher was excellent and very precise as he always
is. The Olive Garden was excellent with their service, without saying
the food was tasty and very filling. On my way to work I had the biggest
smile on my face, the reason was a sense of pride had swelled up
inside of me knowing I was proud to be part of this wonderful lodge.
It just carried me through the night and still as I am writing this email.
With the positive direction our lodge is going, this sense of pride and
honor will just keep on getting bigger and bigger and so will the smile
 on my face.

Thank you brothers for the smile, pride and a great time.

            Bro. William Morales Jr.”

With my breast swelled with pride...I say "Job well Done" my brothers.

In an initiative to continue the lodge moving in the right direction, I reappointed some of the Lodge Officers in an effort to keep all the chairs occupied. This decision was based on performance and attendance.  Congratulations to these brothers for their devotion and dedication in supporting this lodge.

On January 21, 2009, our JW, Brother Dan Saltzman will be the conferring Master for the Fellowcraft Degree.  I hope everyone continue preparing for their parts. With the rehearsal still fresh in your minds and learned craft safely tucked away in your breast, the Fellowcraft Degree will be a success and the lodge as a whole will have taken another giant step towards             ritual perfection.

Congratulation to Brother Jose Carrero for his successful tree lighting ceremony for his community. Brother Carrero has been purchasing Christmas Trees through donations from large corporations for his community for the past few years.  I understand this year was especially pleasing because this year's tree was purchased through small donations from small companies and individuals from the neighborhood.

In conclusion, with heart bursting with pride and appreciation, I know this lodge will continue to grow.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Your Brother in the East,

W\Martin Richards, Master
